Information on using Pro-Active C

You will usually find Carpet Moth in areas of the room that are not frequently walked upon. This is because they don't like to be disturbed, so if you do find the larvae or moth of the Case Bearing Moth then it would be a good idea to check the outside edges of the room and also under any furniture that does not get moved very often.

The best thing to use for Carpet Moth is Pro-Active C which is a water based insecticide that contains Cypermethrin. The product is perfectly safe once dry and does not cause any damage to carpets (if worried about carpet damage, test on a piece of carpet that is not visible).

Before using Pro-Active C(link) it is best to thoroughly Vacuum the room, especially under the furniture that is not moved often. Once you have finished that you can spray the outside edges of the room and under the furniture (and if you have found them elsewhere in the room) with a light covering. Try not to vacuum for another 30 days at which point you should start the whole process again as the eggs can outlive 30 days.
