Firstly identify foodstuffs where moth larvae may be active i.e.: rice, flour, pasta, cereals etc dispose of any opened products and freeze unopened packaged food. Placing in airtight containers also helps keep the food protected from moth infestation.

Take all foodstuffs out of cupboards and clean thoroughly.

Apply Pro-Control aerosol to all surfaces of the cupboard and allow to dry. Once dry replace foodstuffs.

This treatment will need to be repeated every 30 days for as long as the problem persists. Normally two/three treatments would be adequate.

We find Pro-Control is easier to use in cupboards being an aerosol it penetrates into gaps and joins more effectively.

Using Pheromone Traps Against Food Product Moth

These should be used in conjunction with an insecticidal treatment.

For the treatment of Indian Meal Moth, Warehouse Moth, Mediterranean Moth

After treatment place one pheromone trap per cupboard. You can either use the sticky pads on their own by blu-tacking them to cupboard surface or you can use demi-diamond holder. The traps last 6-10 weeks once in place dependant on environment in which it's placed.

The pheromones will attract only the male moth as it is a female sex pheromone attractant, therefore it breaks down the cycle while monitoring the infestation.

Keep traps in place for 3 months after last moth is caught to make sure problem is dealt with.
